Q: Are the caregivers licensed & insured
A: Every Manoa Senior Care caregiver is an employee of our company. We perform a criminal
background clearance on each caregiver and cover each of them with general
liability and worker's compensation insurance. Manoa Senior Care employs licensed nurses and trained nurse aides.
Q: How do I start service?
A: To start our in-home care services, we arrange a time to visit with you and your family.
At that time we will fully discuss the care situation and decisions will be made as to the
most appropriate services needed. A home safety assessment will also be done. Once that
is complete, you can choose a date to start service.
Q: Will I have a choice of who comes to my home?
A: In our initial assessment, we will
ask your preferences and then match you to the right caregiver(s) to the best of our ability.
Q: Will the same caregiver come each day/shift?
A: Our goal is to establish a long-term match between client and caregiver, so we will try to send
the same caregiver(s) whenever possible.
Q: Are home care services covered by Medicare or insurance?
A: Medicare does not pay for "private duty" or personal care service. Please check with your insurance
carrier regarding your long-term care insurance policy.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: We require at least a 4 hour advance notice when canceling a scheduled shift.
Q: How often will I be billed?
A: You will be billed every 2 weeks.
Q: How are you caregivers monitored?
A: A licensed nurse will do a minimum of one visit per month or more if needed.
Q: Am I able to change my services?
A: Yes. Our services are flexible. We can adjust schedules and
change the services as needed or upon request.
Q: Do you offer medication management?
A: Yes. Our nurses can set up the medications to be dispensed by the caregiver.
Q: Will the caregiver be able to drive me to places I want to go?
A: Yes. There is a transportation fee of $1.00/mile
Q: Who do I call if a caregiver doesn't show up for a shift?
A: Notify the Manoa Senior Care scheduler so a replacement can be arranged.
Q: Who should I call if I am not satisfied with my services?
A: Your care will be supervised by a licensed nurse, who should be contacted by phone or may do a home visit as needed
